The South African Awareness Committee was a student group at the University of Rochester. The South African Awareness Committee campaigned to get the University of Rochester to divest from companies doing business in apartheid South Africa. In 1981 the South African Awareness Committee held a week-long photo exhibit entitled "Children of Apartheid", showed the film Six Days in Soweto, and activist/poet Dennis Brutus talked on the campus.
