The Southern African Solidarity Alliance (SASA), briefly called the Southern Africa Solidarity Group (SASG) when it was formed, was located at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN). It organized pickets, rallies, information campaigns about South Africa and its occupation of Namibia and lobbied the University's Council and its trustees to divest from companies operating in South Africa. It also supported the Martin Luther King Anti-Apartheid Coalition's campaigns for divestment of state of Pennsylvania assets from businesses involved in South Africa and for a boycott of Krugerrands.
