In 1964, SNCC was one of the sponsors of a protest at the South African Consulate to the United Nations in solidarity with Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu and seven others then on trial in South Africa. In 1965, it co-sponsored a demonstration at Chase Manhattan Bank protesting the bank's loans to South Africa. SNCC representatives attended the International Seminar on Racism, Colonialism and Apartheid in Southern Africa held in Kitwe, Zambia in 1967 and testified on South Africa at the United Nations.
