A tall, narrow button with a red, white and black shield and black text; on either side of the text is a red zig zag border with small colorful dots. This image is enclosed in a silver-colored rectangle. The button was created for the Nelson Mandela 70th birthday tribute concert at Wembley Stadium on June 11, 1988. The concert was broadcast to over 60 countries and made Mandela a household name in Britain and all over the world. After the concert, 70 percent of people in Britain believed that Mandela should be released from prison.
