1990
Round, metal anti-apartheid button. In the center is a gold hand being grasped by a black hand with gold fingernails, on a green background. Around the edge of the button is a pattern of gold triangles pointing into the circle, on a black background. Gold letters appear in the black space around the center image and below the clasped hands, on green. The button apparently was created for the Wembley Stadium concert held on April 16, 1990. The concert celebrated the release from prison of Nelson Mandela of the African National Congress (ANC), who addressed the event. Size: 1 inch across.
