Mailing to the ELCA Board of Pensions. Dear Board Members: At the March 4-6 meeting of the Commission for Multicultural Ministries the following resolution was adopted regarding the divestment of ELCA pension funds from companies doing business in South Africa: “Whereas, the determination of the South African government to resist and prevent change has once again been demonstrated by the recent banning of 18 organizations working for an end of apartheid and for the establishment of a democratic, non-racial government in South Africa”
