Carole Collins from the Campaign to Oppose Bank Loans to South Africa (COBLSA), Massachusetts State Representative Mel King, and Gail Hovey, Research Director of the American Committee on Africa (ACOA) (from left to right) lead a workshop at the second Conference on Public Investment and South Africa. King was the key sponsor of a bill in the Massachusetts House of Representatives that became law in January 1983 mandating the divestment of the state pension fund from companies doing business in South Africa.
