On April 25, 1985, 20 people were arrested in Murphy Hall as they peacefully protested the University of California’s financial support of South African apartheid. The official legal system decided not to press charges against the students, but the UCLA administration is bringing four students before the Study Conduct Committee at an open hearing on January 24 at 9:00 a.m. The rally is being held to support free speech and oppose UC investments in South Africa.
