Leaflet advertising a vigil and teach-in protesting the racist views of Prof. Hutchinson outside his class on January 15 at 6:30 P.M. On September 18, 1985, Prof. Hutchinson attended a seminar in Johannesburg where he said that the South African government should eliminate television coverage of riots. The leaflet states: “According to high offices in South Africa’s ruling Nationalist Party and other government officials, Prof. Hutchinson was very influential in the South African government’s decision to censor TV coverage of violence in that country.”
