Pension Members for Justice was grateful for the agreement that was reached concerning divestment, in which it was declared that South Africa free funds would be “normative.” This policy makes it clear that the will of the church, expressed in the 1989 ELCA Assembly, is being implemented. The letter raises five questions about the explanation of its new policy contained in the mailing from the Board of Pensions on August 17, 1990.
