Copy of a letter from the Social Action Committee at Union Theological Seminary to John N. Irwin II, copied to Dr. John C. Bennett, that urgently requests that the Board of Trustees of the seminary consider the moral implications involved and assume “Christian stewardship” of its financial assets held in banks that are supporting the racist South African government. The letter notes that First City National Bank and others will soon be renegotiating their role in the consortium which provides revolving credit for the South African government.
