Copy of a letter to William See. The letter says American financial support if the South African racist regime has been an issue of great concern for several years. The bank campaign of last December focused attention on the consortium of American banks lending to that regime and urged changes of policy. The banks have refused thus far, so we have urged individuals, churches, businessmen, and others to withdraw their accounts in protest. As seminarians, the question of the church’s involvement has been raised, and discussions are underway on with the Methodist Board of Missions which has several million dollars invested in these banks, particularly the First National City...
