A Resolution adopted by the SEIU Local 790 calling on The Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco to cancel or postpone an exhibit of "Great Dutch Paintings in America" until Shell Oil Company, which is sponsoring the visiting exhibit, severs its ties to the Republic of South Africa. The resolution also calls on the Mayor, Board of Supervisors, and City Attorney to execute their duties under referendum #9821 passed by the City's voters in November of 1987 prohibiting the City and County from doing any type of business with Shell Oil. The resolution describes the exhibit, which includes works by Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens, as a Trojan Horse because it is a sneak attack directed against the boycott of Shell products which was instituted in 1986.
