A Resolution adopted by the SEIU Local 790 calling on The FineArtsMuseumofSanFranciscotocancelorpostponean exhibitof "Great Dutch Paintings in America" untilShell Oil Company, which is sponsoring the visiting exhibit, severs itstiesto the RepublicofSouthAfrica. The resolution also calls ontheMayor,BoardofSupervisors, and CityAttorneytoexecutetheirdutiesunder referendum#9821passedbytheCity'svotersinNovemberof1987 prohibiting theCityandCountyfromdoing any type of businesswithShell Oil. The resolution describes the exhibit, which includes works by Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens, as a Trojan Horse because it is a sneak attack directed against the boycott of Shell products which was instituted in 1986.
