The Rhodesian government is a racist police state supported by big business, and the companies that support racism in Rhodesia are often the same companies that exploit American workers. The country is controlled by a small group of white settlers. Black people, who make up 95% of the population, have almost no political or civil rights. For the last two years, Baltimore Longshoremen and their supporters have been boycotting imports from racist Rhodesia. Similar actions have occurred in Philadelphia and in Norfolk, Virginia. The AFL-CIO Council recently passed a resolution saying no union person should touch Rhodesian imports.
