After seven years under sanctions imposed by the United Nations, the Rhodesians are now past masters of the art of belt-tightening and getting along with shortages of even strategic commodities like oil and gas. And this weekend, the government is celebrating the grand opening of a Holiday Inn in Bulawayo, a city about 200 miles southwest of Salisbury, with no less than Prime Minister Ian Smith scheduled to attend the celebration.
