The Ford Foundation and the Carnegie Corporation of New York have made respectively grants of $75,000 and $25,000 to the Forum, thus allowing it to begin operations with a senior research fellow, a junior research fellow, an administrator, and a secretary. The Forum will also organize annual conferences pulling together African, Caribbean, and African American leaders to discuss common concerns.
