The Anti-Apartheid Act of 1985 (HR 1460/S 635), introduced by Rep. The Anti-Apartheid Act of 1985 (HR 1460/S 635), introduced by Rep. Bill Gray and Senator Ted Kennedy, prohibits new investment in South Africa and new loans and computer sales to the South African government, and bans imports of Krugerrands into the U.S. HR 1098, introduced by Rep. HR 1135 and 1133, introduced by Rep. Rangel, prohibit U.S. imports of coal and uranium from South Africa and Namibia and export or other transfer to South Africa of nuclear material.
