Press release about protest at the South African Embassy. The press release says daily living in South Africa is brutal to the African majority. Black people must carry "passbooks" and are denied the fundamental right to vote. By law, black South African workers cannot earn the same wages as a white worker for performing the same work. Black men are forced to leave their families in the homelands for many months at a time to work. Black South African women are not allowed to live with their families while working in white areas as domestics. For more information, contact TransAfrica or the Southern Africa Support Project.
