Undated, after June 1973

Leaflet circulated on the campus of New York University (NYU) that criticizes the role of NYU President Hester as a member of the Board of the Union Carbide Corporation, which operates chrome mines in white-ruled Rhodesia. The leaflet says that Union Carbide’s lawyer drafted the amendment introduced by Senator Harry Byrd to allow the U.S. to import Rhodesia chrome in violation of United Nations sanctions. The leaflet calls on students to support the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) and to call on President Hester to debate ZANU representative Tapson Mawera.
