The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will again vote on the Comprehensive Sanctions Bill on September 15. Senator Paul Simon, a member of the Committee, is a co-sponsor. When it reaches the Senate, Alan Dixon and Vice-Presidential candidate Lloyd Bentsen are listed as swing votes and should get letters. Two events which have passed where announced: Sen. Simon's town hall on his trip to South Africa and a symposium on freeing Nelson Mandela. Several Committee Co-chairs of the TransAfrica Support Committee were named.
