Rev. Paul Harris, coordinator of the Religious Action Network, speaking at a meeting of the Constituency for Africa. The annual Ronald H. Brown African Affairs series was sponsored by the Constituency for Africa, held together with the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Weekend. Ronald H. Brown was the first African-American to serve as U.S. Secretary of Commerce, during the first Clinton administration. Brown led trade delegations to Africa; he was killed in a plane crash in Croatia in 1996.
