Contents: BACKGROUND • STAKES • PROGRAM OF ACTION • LIKELY CONFEREES • The House-Senate conference on the Export Administration Act sometime in January will be a final test for the passage of anti-apartheid legislation which has been promoted in the House of Representatives since last Spring. Certain amendments and provisions in the House version of the bill would initiate economic sanctions against the Republic of South Africa. Amendments by Reps. Berman, Gray, Solarz, and Wolpe are discussed. People are asked to organize delegations to meet with their members of Congress, especially likely members of the conference committee.
