T-shirt made soon after October 15, 1889, when seven leaders of the African National Congress (ANC) who had been convicted at the Rivonia trial were released from prison. Walter Sisulu is depicted at the center of a blue and black rectangle on the yellow T-shirt. The other men who were released are shown to the left and right of Sisulu: Oscar Mpetha. Ahmed Kathrada, Raymond Mhlaba, Elias Motsoaledi, Andrew Mlangeni, and Wilton Mkwayi. (Nelson Mandela was not released until February 11, 1990.) The label on the T-shirt says it was created by Zenzeleni Clothing (PTY) LTD. This company was formed in 1989 by workers who were dismissed from their jobs at the Frame Textile Group.
