Raymond Flynn, Mayor of Boston, speaking at a press conference announcing the Unlock Apartheid's Jails campaign,launched by The Africa Fund and the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM). Flynn was president of the USCM at the time. Looking on are Bill Cosby and Ambassador Joseph Garba of Nigeria, Chairman of the UN Special Committee against Apartheid. Flynn is speaking in front of a poster of the campaign and an abstract print of African adults and children behind prison bars. The press conference was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
