Moses Mayekiso is seated by Senator Nancy Kassebaum, Republican of Kansas. Kassebaum was the senior Republican on the Subcommittee on Africa of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The American Committee on Africa (ACOA) and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law brought Mayekiso from South Africa to brief key Senators and senior staff members. Mayekiso was General Secretary of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (NUMSA).
