Former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria Walter Carrington attending the renaming of Kudirat Abiola Corner across from the Nigerian consulate in New York City. He had testified before the New York City Council in October, 1998 in support of installing a street sign in honor of democracy activist Kudirat Abiola, who was killed on a street in Lagos in 1996 while her husband, President-elect Moshood Abiola, was imprisoned.
