Patricia Ireland of the National Organization of Women (NOW) addresses an event at which American women salute the South African Women's Charter. The event was co-sponsored by The Africa Fund's Women's Project and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). It was held at the Cannon House Office Building on International Women's Day, March 8, 1994. Ireland was President of NOW from 1991-2001. Seated: Lindiwe Mabuza, representative of the African National Congress (ANC).
