Rachael Kagan (left), The Africa Fund Women's Project Coordinator, and Adrena Ifill, Associate Director of The Africa Fund converse at event where leaders of American women's organizations salute the South African Women's Charter. The Women's Charter was developed by the National Women's Coalition in South Africa, which was launched in 1991. The Charter was completed in 1994, and it was incorporated into the Bill of Rights of the new South African constitution. The event was co-sponsored by The African Fund and the National Council of Negro Women. It was held at the Cannon House Office Building on International Women's Day, March 8, 1994.
