The Rev. Eleanor Morrison, ordained in the United Church of Christ, delivered the invocation at the "Hands Around the Capitol" rally. She was an anti-racist trainer as well as pastor, serving at that time at a church in Portland, Michigan. At Morrison's left side is Rep. Virgil Smith. Behind her in light suit is Senator David Holmes. Behind Holmes, in striped suit, is Rep. Joe Young, Sr. Going from right to left in the picture, beside Young is Rep. Perry Bullard, Rep. David Holister, and Rev. Burton Leland.
