Akua Budu-Watkins and Christine Root are chatting at a rally at the Michigan state Capitol in Lansing called to lobby for the Senate to act on a bill already passed by the House of Representatives that would divest state pension funds from companies operating in South Africa. Budu-Watkins was Vice President of the Detroit Chapter of TransAfrica and the Midwest organizer of the Free South Africa Movement.
