This gold-colored coin was created by Komitee Zuidelijk Afrika (Holland Committee on Southern Africa) as part of a campaign against the sale of the South African gold coin called the Krugerrand in the Netherlands. One side shows the face of Nelson Mandela, with "Symbol of resistance" below. The other side is the figure of a warrior holding a shield in one hand and a spear in the other, over his head. Below the figure is written "The struggle is my life." The design was created by famous Dutch visual artist Lucebert. Size: 1-1/2 inches diameter. (Source: International Institute of Social History)
