St. Louis, Missouri, United States
About April 1989
During graduation ceremonies at Washington University Teresa Roberts of Action Against Apartheid and another person climbed onto the roof of a building adjacent to the audience and hung this banner as part of a campaign to get the university to divest from companies doing business in apartheid South Africa. The person in the white shirt and with his fist up is Action Against Apartheid member Sam Diener. The text on the banner was: "Money Talks: Wash U has $158 million speaking for Apartheid. Full divestment now!"
