Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
1974, possibly June 17 or July 26
Picket on the docks in Philadelphia (Packer Marine Terminal) organized by the Coalition to Stop Rhodesian Imports. This may be a picket of the ship named the Austral Patriot on June 17, 1974 which the Coalition believed was carrying goods from Rhodesia or the African Dawn on July 26, 1974. The coalition campaigned against imports from Rhodesia, including Asbestos, Chrome, Beryllium, that were imported to the U.S. under the Byrd Amendment in violation of United Nations sanctions against Rhodesia.
