Members of Dartmouth Community for Divestment (DCD) preparing a new place to move a shanty they built in preparation for winter carnival, an annual event at Dartmouth College. The shanty was built as part of a campaign to get Dartmouth College to divest from companies doing business in apartheid South Africa. The photograph shows Lillian Llacer on the left shoveling and Erik Ness with shovel, bearded, on right. Lillian Llacer was one of the two women, with Kim Porteus, who were in the shanties the night they were attacked.
