In commemoration of South Africa Political Prisoners Day over 200 protesters rallied at the Manufacturers Hanover Trust (MHT) brank nearest to New York City Hall. Eight demonstrators were arrested for civil disobedience. The campaign against MHT protested the fact that the bank had given South Africa 10 years to repay nearly half of the $160 million it owes the bank.
