The Fourth Committee (Trust and Non-Self-Governing Territories) of the United Nations, at its meeting on October 16, 1972, heard a statement by the Secretary-General of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea (Bissau) and Cape Verde (PAIGC), which had been granted observer status under a decision taken by the Committee at its meeting on 27 September.
