Hundreds of Harvard University students picketing around University Hall preventing staff and administrators from entering the building to protest Harvard Corporation's decision not to divest from companies doing business in apartheid South Africa. When the protest ended in the afternoon it ended a five-day vigil by the United Front, a coalition of student organizations including the Harvard-Radcliffe Southern Africa Solidarity Committee, the Harvard-Radcliffe Black Students Association, the Asian American Association, American Indians at Harvard, La Organizacion, the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee and La Raza.
