Poster advertising the play Sisters of the Long March presented by the Sarmcol Workers Cooperative in association with the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) and the Trades Union Congress (TUC) of the UK (United Kingdom) in solidarity with the Sarmcol strikers in dispute since May 1985 with the giant UK company BTR Limited. Sarmcol was a subsidiary of BTR. Sisters of the Long March toured Britain in September-December 1988, to win support for the South African workers. The Sisters were a seven-woman song and dance group from Natal. They took their show to over 20 venues all over the country. The tour was supported by the Anti-Apartheid Movement.
