Anti-Apartheid Movement
London, United Kingdom
1976
The bright yellow poster features the iconic photograph of Hector Pieterson, the first student killed in the student protests in June 1976, being carried by a teenager, with a teenage woman running alongside. After the Soweto uprising, the Anti-Apartheid Movement stepped up its campaign to stop Britain selling arms to South Africa.
Apartheid South Africa has the powerful defence force in Africa, thanks to the help of Britain and other western powers.
