Poster produced for a conference on 'Women Under Apartheid' held in London on 24 April 1976. The main speakers at the conference were former political prisoners Dulcie September and Joyce Sikakane. The poster describes conditions faced by women domestic workers in South Africa: "Her colour and her sex deny her the right to vote, to own or inherit property, to live freely with her husband, to bring up her children, to choose her place of work. In apartheid South Africa unemployed African women are labelled 'superfluous appendages' and are 'repatriated' to near barren reserves." [Size: 23 x 16-1/4 inches.]
