On this round button, the image of a black spear, outlined in gold, points across the center of the button, in front of a gold circle. A ring of green surrounds the gold circle, and white text appears on a black ring around the edge. The button commemorates the battle of Isandlwana in January 1879, where 20,000 Zulus warriors under King Cetewayo defeated a partial column of British troops in the first major encounter in the Anglo-Zulu War.
