Poster with a yellow background produced as part of campaign to support Cape Town doctor Ivan Toms, who was charged for refusing to serve in the South African army. A black and white photograph of Toms is in the bottom right potion of the poster, wearing a sweater and apparently singing while holding up a fist at shoulder height. Next to this photo is a photo of a mass meeting with a large banner saying “No Apartheid War.” Three cut-out photographs in the top part of the poster show South African army personnel carrying rifles and arresting a young African man. Size: 59x42 cm.
Cape Town doctor Ivan Toms has been charged with refusing to serve in the South African army. He faces a three year jail sentence. The Committee on South African War Resistance is organizing a campaign to support him.
