March and rally on Saturday, June 14, 1986 marking the Soweto uprising that began on June 16, 1976. People marched, some from the United Nations and some from Harlem, to a rally in Central Park. Marchers are carrying a banner about the African National Congress (ANC). The march and rally were organized by the New York Anti-Apartheid Coordinating Council, a coalition of more than 200 labor, political, religious and student organizations.
