Anti-apartheid demonstrators building a shanty on the grounds of the State Capital to protest against the refusal of State Comptroller Edward Regan and the State Senate to divest the state pension fund from companies doing business in South Africa. The photograph shows Jabari Penda (in red jacket) and Cleo Carter (white head wrap). The protest was a joint student and community collaboration including students from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and the Capital District Coalition Against Apartheid and Racism.
