Reverend John Jackson, Minister of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and Co-Chair of the Portland Chapter of the Nation Black United Front (NBUF), and Ron Herndon, Co-Chair of the Portland Chapter of NBUF getting arrested at an anti-apartheid demonstration in front of the business location of the South African honorary consul. A series of demonstrations were held at the South African consulate starting the week of December 10, 1984 organized by Portlanders Organized for Southern Africa Freedom (POSAF) in conjunction the Southern Africa staff of the American Friends Service Committee, the Rainbow Organizing Coalition, and the Portland Chapter of NBUF.
