Washington, DC, United States
Undated, most likely early 1985, possible late 1984
Yellow round button with black block letters. Button produced by the Southern Africa Project of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. At the time there were daily demonstrations at the South African Embassy in Washington, DC that started in November 1984 and continued for one year. The Southern Africa Project organized a day when about 1,000 lawyers attended the demonstration and about six were arrested. The button was used after that day for organizing lawyers. Size: 2 1/4 inches across. (Source: Gay McDougall, then Director of the Southern Africa Project.)
