Students held a rally in front of the student union building, Willard Straight Hall, as part of a campaign to get Cornell University to divest from companies doing business in South Africa. Red banners were strung from the bell tower to the base of Willard Straight Hall. The rally was apparently organized by the South Africa Divestment Coalition. The rally occurred about a month after the sit-ins.
