New York artist and poet Janet Restino designed and created this T-shirt after the release of Nelson Mandela on February 11, 1990. The white T-shirt was screen printed with red, yellow and green stripes at an upward angle and a black print of a woman in decorative clothing and lettering on top of the stripes. The T-shirt was sold on the streets of New York City, in select shops, and at some political events.
