The wide, rectangular button with white letters on black background supports United Nations Security Council Resolution 435. The resolution, adopted on September 29, 1978, set out proposals for ceasefire and UN-supervised elections in Namibia. This button was apparently not produced in the United States; the country where it was produced in unknown.
