A black outlined map of Africa contains a quotation at the top and a black and white photograph of Nelson and Winnie Mandela after Nelson Mandela was released from prison. Stripes of black, green, and yellow (the design of the African National Congress (ANC) flag) are behind the continent at an upward angle. "Year of people's action for a democratic South Africa" was the slogan of the ANC in 1990.
I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society, in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and achive but if need be it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die. The year of peoples action for a democratic South Africa.
